Typography Deconstruction

  • This typography is taken from Insidious
  • It appears on the screen by fading in and then a copy of it floats away and fades away itself
  • The typography is red which has connotations of blood or the devil which conforms to the possession horror genre
  • When it floats away it gives the idea of supernatural happenings which conforms again to possession or supernatural horror genre making it appropriate as an idea we could place in our own opening titles

  • This typography is taken from American Horror Story
  • The words appear on screen and shake slightly before being replaced with film clips
  • The typography is white and uses a bold font, this is set against the black background and allows it to stand out. This allows it to catch the viewers attention and possibly shock them - therefore conforming to the possession horror genre however I think a style like this would be too bold for our credits
To evaluate I think that movement within the credits is typical, therefore within our titles we should include some form of transition and possibly during the time that they are on screen. I have also found that the font used is bold either within size or colour and contrast with the background.
