Editing filming sequence

I have previously made some sound effects, which I uploaded to final cut to see if these sound effects worked well with the shots we had taken.
Furthermore I added some transitions into the sequence such as a ‘flash’ transition, which was to represent the flash of an old camera; also I added a ‘fade to black’ at the final shot just before the jump scare at the end.

The make this shot have the effect that the character was being pulled up the stairs by a supernatural spirit, I got the shot and went onto modify where I clicked on ‘reverse clip’, this allowed the clip look like it was in reverse. To enhance the effectiveness of the shot, I retimed it and put it into fast motion.  Additionally to create an effective image, I used the effect ‘dry heat’ on final cut, which gives a haunted and sinister appearance.  I did the same effect with a few other shots such as the cut with the baby doll hanging and the shadow of the hand behind the shower curtain.
