What I used:
- Wooden Photo Frame
- Sandpaper
- Knife
- A Lighter (I also used a blowtorch but this is optional)
- Old photo of a child
- Black Shoe Polish
I first sanded the frame down slighty to make to wood more worn (and remove the glitter, I would recommend using a non glittery frame)
I then burnt parts of the frame to make them look old and worn
I then used a knife to scrape/whittle parts of the wood away
I then applied black show polish on to make it darker and get colour into the grain of the wood
I then used a blow word all round the frame to make it much darker
This is the final prop once the image was inserted
Evaluation
What went well:
- The frame looks old
- The grain is still visible
- the image of the child adds effect
- The small scratched make the frame look worn
- More scratches in the wood
- Smash the glass of the frame (we will hopefully do this when filming)
- Use a plain frame without glitter
