Photograph Editing Practical
1.
- The photo was taken on my iPhone
- I edited the original (on the left) on Aviary Photo Editor to create the photo on the right
- I did this by using the filter 'boardwalk', decreasing the contrast and saturation
- I also used the blemish remover around the outside of the distant pieces of plant/tree to create an eerie effect typical of possession horror
- The lighting on the original photograph was effective and aided the editing process
- The blemish remover effect looks very effective
- The filter makes the picture look old
- The bottom section is not very visible of the different shapes
2.

- Again the photo was taken on my iPhone and I used Aviary to edit
- I also used Windows Photo Gallery for final editing techniques
- I used metropolis filter, increased the contrast and decreased the sharpness using Aviary
- I then saved this and used the retouch on different small sections around the edge to give a slightly distorted look which is commonly seen in possession horror photographs
What Went Well
- The black and white is conventional of horror
- Slight distortions add subtle disequilibrium to it
- Lighting is effective
Improvements
- There could be more contrast in the foreground
- Rule of thirds could be applied better
3.
- As with the previous two I took the photo using my iPhone and edited using Aviary
- I used the clyde filter, decreased lighting and sharpness and increased contrast and saturation
- The buildings being very out of focus works well in creating an eerie effect
- The focus on the street lights on the top left corner attracts attention to that section of the picture
- The general darkness provides an idea of danger and not knowing what's in the shadows
- The light and dark could contrast more and could be less pixelated
