Actors Practical

After receiving 100 responses on our survey, we found what our audience would most like to see in our film opening. We asked questions about the victim and found that people generally expected the victim in a possession horror to be:
  • Female (83%)
  • Young Adult (48%)
  • (Second - Adolescent - 24%)
We therefore decided on potential actors who fit this criteria. As we are in the adolescent age range we know several people who would suit the role of the victim in our film.
We looked at our storyboard to see if the audience preferences met with our ideas.

The only shot where the actors face is seen is this shot and the vision will be obscured and we do not therefore need to be too specific in finding someone who looks exactly like a young adult if it is difficult to do so.
Our potential actors are:
  • Lily - 16 years old, experienced in Drama so can play a convincing role
  • Felicity - 16 years old, lives locally to potential location so filming will be easy to organise
  • There was then people form our group (Verity, Ellie and myself) who could act in the film however none of us have experience acting but the shots we have planned do not include any speech or complex acting. It is just the face needed so any of us could act as we will need to be present for filming anyway.
  • The only problem with this idea is that if we need to reshoot any shots then the person who acted before may not be available to act on the second date for filming so we will need to plan dates in advance.
