Lighting Practical

During filming the lighting angle is very important for how an object shows up or is portrayed - poor lighting may mean that the object is not able to be seen clearly or another object may appear to be the focus unintentionally.

Before Using Another Light Source

Full Light                                Half Light                               No Light

Light Overhead Object

This effective is particularly effective over the object originally without light and is definitely spotlighted by it. It has no effect on the full light and half light is not very effective.

Light from Right of Object
I don't think that this is particularly effective as a lighting usage as it does not effectively light the object however it could suggest something happening from the side which is unseen which would be effective for the horror genre.

Light from Behind Object

I think this is effective as a lighting effect as it creates an outline behind the object which would be effective as it would not be clear as to what the object was and allows the viewers imagination to create an image of the full object.

Light from Left of Object

Similarly to being lit from the right hand side I don't find this effect very effective as it is unclear what it is being shone upon however could suggest activity from the left hand side which is unseen

Light from Front of Object

I think this is an effective lighting effect as it shows the entirety of the front face of the object. This would be effective maybe used in a jump scare with a face from a doll or another object.

To evaluate my practical I think that lighting from another source is most effective when there is half light and no light. This creates focus onto the object and therefore is effective for drawing in attention to the area lit.
