- Large staircase with high open area puts the audience on edge as Carolyn could fall
- Large family home which is a common convention of horror
- Dark room with only one source of light, the light is half on an old wooden wardrobe
- Children's posters on wall are only colour in the room
- Wardrobe opens by itself like it is possessed. Objects moving by themselves or being moved by spirits are a very common convention in horror
- Lighting in wardrobe as clothes move like there is something in there
