For our possession film practical work we will use a doll as our possessed object because it exploits the stereotype of possession films as possessed objects are common representations which enforce the genre. We will add effects to our prop after we have completed the first part of filming so we can see the transformation of the doll being new then old.
Our effects will be to make it warn down by roughing up the doll's hair, placing scratch marks on her face and eyes, staining her clothes using wine, for example. We could also put rips in her clothes to make the doll look old and used.
The point of this is to add to our narrative as the doll is an effective use of mise-en-scene to signify the genre.
- This doll has had it's hair ruined and out of place to make it looked more old and warn. The eyes are also painted black and the teeth are showing. The clothing of the doll is old, early twentieth century fashion which gives the image that the doll is old and dated. The effect of having the doll looked aged is that it shows that the doll has history and it creates an enigma because you could ask if their history was good or bad.

- The trend of being worn and old has also been shown in this example too as the eyes looks like they have been disjointed as the right eye is fully shut, whereas the left eye is pointed in the wrong direction, giving it a scary look because it has an abnormal, unpleasant image.

- This doll also has a similar look to the previous dolls as the eyes are looking two separate ways. The eyes also look burnt which adds to the horror genre because it gives an abnormal look as both effects of the eyes are key convention codes of horror as it is unpleasant to look at.
- The links we have with our dolls we used in our production because the doll is wearing a patriarchal/traditional twentieth century clothing which, signifying that the doll is aged, adding to the horror genre by creating an enigma to the doll's background information.

- This doll that we also used adds to the horror genre because it gives the impression that it is old and worn as its head is disfigured and the eyes are not fully matching, which links to the demo dolls.
