The possession-

The costume for the possessed child is a baggy brown top with old boots which makes the costume simple yet effective as it brings more attention to the girls face. The other costume she wears is when she is in the hospital and she is wearing a green hospital gown which is then covered in blood at the end of the scene.




The exorcism of Emily Rose-

The costume the young girl wears is a cream nightgown which is covered in dark red blood which conforms the the common representation of horror films. At the beginning the costume is white showing innocence and incorrupt but later in the film as she becomes possession, he personally changes which is shown from what she wears.




Examples of make up in possession films-

The examples of make up shown here usually makes the face dark around the eyes to make the victim be represented as possessed. The face is normally very pale giving off a near death compextion. The characters hair is usually long and dark and over their face showing them as mysterious and dark, which tells the audience that they could be a possible victim.


The common conventions found in supernatural/possession costumes for the antgaonsit is usually a plain white gown which juxtaposes the evil and danger in the character as the colour white connotes purity.  The most effective form of make up is prosthetics as it creates an unnatural effect.
