These photographs were taken in an abandoned building in Hawkhurst in Kent and at a church grave yard in Boughton Moncelsea. Both these locations would be ideal of filming an opening of a horror film especially for the sub genre of possession as it meets the conventions of the typical possession film such as old, abandoned and isolated.
Image 1- this was taken of an old building which would be ideal for films however it has no public access to the inside of it yet we could still use it for the location but by taking shots from the outside.
Image 2- this image was taken from an out abandoned building in Hawkhurst in kent and this would be ideal for using in the filming process as it is easy to get to and it can be easily accessible for us to film in. However the lighting may be an issue and it may look to dark at some parts of the day and so we may have to use artificial lighting.
Image 3- this image was taken at a grave yard in Boughton Moncelsea and would be a good place to film as graveyards are related to death and supernatural events. However the time of day will affect the filming process as it would only be suitable for filming at night.
Image 4- this was also taken at the abandoned building it shows good lighting effects which could be used in the films yet the camera may not pick them up and show quite so well.
Image 5- the sign of wear respirator wives off a spooky affect and so it could be used in the filming.
Image 6- this part of the abandoned building could be ideal for filming the possession scene but again the lighting may be an issue and so artificial lighting may have to be used which will take up more time in filming.
Image 7 and 8- also taken from the building and both images show aged signs which we could incorporate into the background of our filming and it also means we can spend less time in making additional props for detail as they are already there.
- This area can only be used on week days so it limits the time my group could spend filming there
- Additionally there is no lighting in the building so we would have to bring our own
- Filming at night would be a problem because there will be no natural lighting
